TERM & CONDITIONS
These Terms & Conditions apply to all classes, courses and vouchers. By booking with us, you agree to the details below. If anything is unclear, we’re always happy to help before you book.
1. Attendance

Classes run at fixed times to cover tuition and studio costs.

Missed classes cannot be rearranged, replaced or rescheduled.

Late arrival does not extend your studio time.

We operate at full capacity, so class swaps or catch‑ups are not possible.

Please ensure you can attend all scheduled dates — especially the first and last sessions, which are essential for starting and completing your work.
2. Payment
All bookings must be paid upfront through our website. If you prefer not to book online, we can accept bank transfer or cash.
3. Refunds
Refunds apply to all classes, courses and private sessions:

7 days notice is needed for a full refund

Once a course or session has started, no refunds are given.
4. Transfers

With 7 days’ notice, you may transfer your place to a friend or family member.

Please provide their name and email before the course begins.

After the course has started, bookings cannot be transferred.

Course blocks cannot be shared between multiple people.
5. Materials & Fees

Private classes: All materials included.
-
10‑week courses:
-
Includes up to 10 cup‑size pieces or 3 large pieces.*
-
Extra pieces are charged at £2.50 per 500g fired weight (approx. £2 for a teacup).

*Extra pieces must be paid for on glaze week.
6. Firing & Collecting Work

Firing usually takes 4–5 weeks (we aim for 3–4 weeks where possible).

We do not contact you when work is ready.
-
You have 30 days to collect your pieces.
-
You may request a 2‑week extension in advance.
-
Work left beyond the collection window may be cleared due to limited storage.
-
If you miss glazing week, your work will be glazed in transparent glaze.

We do not post finished pieces.
Firing Delays (Heatwaves)
During heatwaves, firings may be reduced or staggered for safety.
Firing Disclaimer
We cannot guarantee that work will survive firing. Damage during firing is not the responsibility of Oxford Clayhouse.
7. Course Renewal
Halfway through a course, you’ll be asked whether you’d like to continue. Current students receive priority booking.
8. Disabilities & Accessibility
If you have a disability or access need, please let us know before your first class. We can accommodate many needs, and advance notice helps us prepare. Some studios are more suitable than others depending on requirements.
9. Health & Safety
All participants must follow studio rules, signage and teacher guidance.
Key points:

Oxford Clayhouse is not responsible for injuries caused by misuse of equipment or the studio.

Courses are for 18+ only.

Please familiarise yourself with the evacuation procedure.

If unsure about any safety matter, ask your teacher.

We are not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove anyone who does not follow safety rules.
10. Rescheduling, Cancellation & Missed Sessions

With 7 days or less notice, your seat remains yours to give to a friend or family member.

Only one individual may attend the course.
-
Missed sessions cannot be replaced or rearranged.

Please do not request exceptions — we cannot accommodate individual diary changes.
11. Course Structure
The first few and last few lessons are essential for learning foundations and completing projects. Catch‑ups are not possible on other courses or groups.
If we ever need to cancel a course or class, a full refund will be given.
12. Vouchers
Unused vouchers can be refunded to the original purchaser within 14 days of purchase for the voucher value.
